- In Box F :- [S] Fill on [A] Fill off [M] Double X,Y sizes
- In Box E :- [S] Ellipses [A] Points [M] Make size X=Y
- In Box S :- Sizes
- Top:- [S] Increase X [A] Decrease X [M] Restore X=1
- Bottom:- [S] Increase Y [A] Decrease Y [M] Restore Y=1
- In Box A :- [S] Increase Angle of ellipse [A] Decrease Angle
- [M] Increase X and Y by steps of 4
-
- Function Keys=Symmetries :-
- Points are initially plotted. Ellipses are drawn if it has
- been selected in Box E, and if X,Y sizes have been defined in Box S.
- The ellipses will be filled or not according to whether Fill has
- been selected in Box F. The angle of the ellipse is changed in Box
- A. If X and Y are equal the ellipse turns into a circle. This can be
- done by clicking [M] in Box E. Sizes are proportionately doubled at
- each click in Box F.

- ESC to get out of trouble - SPACE returns to program.
-
- On Key Pad:- 1 to 8 controls the way the colours are displayed. OR,AND,EOR
- etc
-
-
- 32000 Colours are available. 256 by clicking [S] in Colour Bar.Click
- [A] in Colour Bar to combine it with the first colour. Clicking [M] on
- Colour Bar gives a choice of 9 colour patterns or the facility to define 9
- other patterns. To define a patterns click [M] on four colours in succession
-
- There are 8 Types of Symmetry. On starting Symm 1 is already
- selected. If you need to enclose an area to flood fill, then it is
- better to draw with ellipses (x=1,y=1) instead of points.
- You can change the centre of Symmetry by pressing "O". This can be
- done several times to produce symmetrical patterns distributed
- symmetrically.
- Symm7- Circles- allows you to choose between 3 and 9 points
- arranged on an invisible circle of a chosen size. One point is on the
- centre of the screen. The other points will be arranged according to
- the orientation which can be changed by using [S]. The Pointer is
- initially on the spot with respect to which the drawing is done. The
- same drawing will be repeated on all the other points. Complete
- symmetry can be obtained holding down the resize buttons <>. Note the
- points and move the pointer to a chosen position and press [A] to
- change this point. [M] to exit. You can then make each point into the
- origin by pressing O, and draw using symm2 or buton [A] in other
- symmetries. This can create very complex patterns.
-
-
- All sizes will be affected by pressing the appropriate buttons in the
- Size Area. Sizes can reach + or -300 in X AND Y directions.
-
- There are a great number of patterns which can be created with the
- Triangles, Ellipses and Rectangles. Press [A] to change pattern. [S] to
- change angles. < to decrease size and > to increase size. Some
- patterns will repeat themselves, but do persist they will change as
- there are many sets of 12. A picture full of patterns can be grabbed
- as sprites and plotted in other pictures.
- Several Pictures may be loaded or saved in succession within this
- Directory. They will be called SymPic1, SymPic2, SymPic3 and so on. It is
- advisable to change these names for the next session otherwise they
- will be written over the next time this program is used. Or move them
- to another directory from time to time. However, by entering your own
- names for the load and save files you will still get a succession of
- files with the chosen name but numbered in series. A program called
- "ShowPic" in the Directory Screens can be used to display pictures
- without the program loaded.
-
- There are pictures in the Directory 'Screens', not very sophisticated,
- but showing all the features of this program.
-
- Do use the test screen ( Press HOME ) to try out various
- patterns before placing them on the picture.
-
- You are free to modify the program, specially to convert it to the
- multi-tasking WIMP mode. Several facilities are missing e.g rescale,
- graduated fills and erase. You can erase by choosing a suitable sized
- filled ellipse. If anyone adds these or converts it to the RiscOS WIMP
- mode, please send me a copy.
-
- HAPPY DOODLING!
